Bin Raqoush Palace

General information In the north of Al-Baha, above the hillside of Bani Sar village, stands Bin Raqoush Palace, among other heritage buildings giving character to this ancient archaeological village. This palace is one of the region's tourist and historical attractions, besides being among the oldest historical mansions with integrated services. It consists of five houses surrounded by farms built in several stages. The first phase started in 1249 AH with a marine house containing the old council, armory, library, commissary, bedrooms, family councils, Al Shami house, a mosque, a central kitchen, servants' quarters, and a well. The second phase, which began in 1358 AH, included constructing the eastern house or "guest house," Al Wasit house, and the reformatory, making the palace an integrated housing compound. The castle was recently restored to become a museum, a tourist center, and a venue for holding heritage events.
