Tabuk Heritage Castle

General information

Tabuk Heritage Castle is located in the center of Tabuk city. It began construction in 1559 AD and underwent a complete restoration recently. The castle consists of two floors. The first one contains a courtyard overlooked by a number of rooms, a mosque, a well and a staircase leading to the upper floor and another one to the guard towers. The upper floor contains small rooms built of stones tied with lime mortar while its roofs were built of mud, stones, palm fronds and tree trunks. Adjacent to the castle are two pools of water that come from a spring called Ain al-Sukkar, named after the plants growing around it. The castle has recently undergone restoration processes, being a historical legacy of great significance.
