General information King Abdul Aziz’s historic palace is a 4,320 square meter castle in the village of Laynah in Rafha, Northern Border Province. This mud-brick, stone and clay palace was constructed following the late King Abdul Aziz order, bearing archaeological writings that tell the history and year of its construction. It is one of the historic buildings manifesting the architectural features of ancient Saudi palaces, taking a rectangular shape with circular towers in its corners and a large courtyard overlooking the palace's family and guest rooms and other facilities. It has a main wooden gate located at its southern façade and a side gate at its western one. The castle's property also features a well, a mosque, and a horse stable. Furthermore, one of the palace's main facilities serves as the emirate's headquarters in the region, featuring accommodation for the Prince and his family.
